In 2003, he joined the ABI working on regulation and distribution of general insurance and financial crime. Most recently he has been Policy Director at the British Chambers of Commerce and Head of Representation at the EEF, the manufacturers' organisation.

James also presents to clients, advisers and other professionals on topical pension matters, liaising with the media regarding changes to pension legislation and its likely impact on consumers.

During his career in pensions, James has developed particular expertise in interpreting, and then applying, complex technical issues to real life client scenarios.  James is part of the firm’s technical resource group for self-invested pensions.

James’ extensive pensions experience, clear advice, and friendly approach helped him to become a trusted consultant to a wide range of UK-based individuals and commercial organisations; particularly those within the SME sector.

Mike Morrison has worked in financial services for far too many years and is now Head of Platform Technical with AJ Bell after 22 years with Winterthur (now AXAWealth). 

In 1990 he joined Winterthur as Technical Manager and was instrumental in the development of their  SIPP product and later their pioneering work in income drawdown.

Mike is an ex Chairman of AMPS (the Association of Member Directed Pension Schemes) and is on the Financial Planning Committee of the ICAEW. He is an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute and the Chartered  Insurance Institute and has an LLB and an LLM in European Law.

Mike is passionate about retirement and savings issues and how better we can communicate these to a wider audience. He is also an accomplished speaker and writer on financial services matters.

Craig joined the Life & Pensions industry straight from university in 1988, putting his degree in Biological Sciences to great use by joining Scottish Widows before moving to Scottish Life.  He has held several roles, including proposition training and development officer for Scottish Life before finally putting his analyst degree to use when he moved to Marketing in 1997 where he specialised in market research and analysis.  Craig became Chairman of LAMRA, an informal association of Life Assurance providers, in 2004 as he worked to improve marketing and market research standards within the Financial Services Industry.

Craig spent several years providing workshops to advisers and paraplanners explaining how to make the best use of their research systems to ensure they were using them competently and compliantly.   He continues to lobby the best advice providers to provide research which is meaningful to advisers.

Matt graduated from Kings College London in 1995 with a BA (Hons) in War Studies. After starting his career at M&G and Fleming Save & Prosper, Matt moved to Framlington Fund Managers in 1997, and joined CCLA Investment Management in 2000 to develop their Local Authority Pension business. He joined Invesco Perpetual in 2002 as a Regional Sales Manager, becoming Nationals & Networks Account Manager in 2012, before taking on his role as Presenter in 2014.

Matt is a member of the CFA Society of the UK and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Paul joined James Hay Partnership in March 2014 and is responsible for both developing and managing the company’s Key Strategic Relationships working alongside some of the countries leading advisory businesses.

Henry is a director of First Actuarial and Founder of the Pension Play Pen. First Actuarial manage pensions; their clients are the sponsors and trustees of workplace pensions. They are equally comfortable advising on defined benefit and defined contribution arrangements. Their clients go to them to make sure they are compliant, properly invested and that staff know how to plan for their retirements.

Henry was born in Dorset, went to college at Cambridge and has worked most of his life in pensions. Though he now works in the institutional market, he started life as an IFA and has always regarded good member outcomes as what he strives for.

Henry blogs as and is well known as an advocate of social media as a means of sharing knowledge and influencing people’s behaviours for the better.
